Hello! I’m Josh, and I have a very big passion for Guinea Pigs (Cavies) that began when I was just 5 years old. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to learning everything I can about these delightful pets, and they have become a significant part of my life.
In 2019 I started showing pet Guinea Pigs; later that year, I got my first purebreds and registered my stud name, “Claremont”, with the New Zealand Cavy Council; since then, I’ve had the honour of winning numerous awards, including two National Best in Shows. My journey in the world of Guinea Pig showing has also led to some exciting opportunities, like appearing on the TV1 Breakfast show and participating in various radio and newspaper interviews.
Currently, I am focused on breeding a variety of Guinea Pig breeds, including self black, self white, silver agouti, alpaca, black american, gold american, saffron american, gold dutch, black dutch, and red dutch. Each breed has its unique characteristics and excellent temperaments.
